Famacha Training is an invaluable tool for learning how to access the correct portion of the eye to gage the level of anemia, caused by the deadly barber pole worm. The producer can monitor each animal to see which ones are most resistant to parasites, then select those individuals for breeding. Keeping lambs at a healthy parasite level will ensure good health and fast growth. Sick or slow moving animals will be easily diagnosed with parasites using the Famacha technique.
10 AM – 12PM Famacha/Parasite Control – Sally Mangra, Certified Famacha Instructor Parasites are our biggest threat, and there is new information on deworming strategies, and a product for effective coccidiosis control.
12 PM to 1 PM Lamb Lunch (and Hot Dogs)
Free to MSA Members, All Others $10 For Lunch
