Wool and Fiber

The Florida Cracker is a well adapted wool breed with a rich Florida history, and many of our members raise this breed for wool production. Professional shearers are available, and their schedule is posted on the MSA website and Facebook page.  The Pioneer Fiber Mill is located in New Smyrna Beach, giving access to local processing.

The MSA sponsors a Spring wool event with workshops and fiber displays. This year the date is Saturday, April 4, at Fairmeadow Farm in Ocala.   A tour of the Pioneer Fiber Mill is being planned for some time this year.
